Whether it is man-made or naturally created, there is something about lakes that are very mesmerizing. We cannot identify whether it is the water, the scenery, the adventure or just all of them that make us want to take a trip down the lake. But, one thing is sure. Beautiful lakes are worth visiting.

The world is filled with beautiful lakes. There are so many beautiful lakes you can visit that can bring you great adventures and experiences. Here is my list of the ten of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

Lake Titicaca

Located in between the neighboring countries of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is one of the best navigable lakes in the whole world. Its size is 22,400 square miles. It also has numerous artificial islands where you can visit by boat. The artificial islands were made by the Uros people who also inhabited the islands. The lake is also included some Inca ruins located at Taquile Island.

Located in Alberta, Canada at the Banff National Park is the spectacular Moraine Lake. The Moraine Lake is a glacial lake that has an altitude of 1,884 meters. It also has a very beautiful surrounding that complements the beauty of the lake. Its background consists of an amazing view of the Valley of Ten Peaks, Mont Babel, Mont Fay, Mont Allen, Mont Bowlen, and the Wenkchemna Peaks. Because of the unique beauty of Moraine Lake, it is featured in magazines multiple times. It was also included at the backside of the Twenty Canadian Dollar Bill Banknote Issues 1969 and 1967.

However, when the volcano collapsed, its caldera formed the lake. Because of this, the lake possessed such an impressive depth of 1,952 feet making it the deepest lake in the United States.

Crater Lake’s sources of water are from rain and melted snow. This is the reason why the lake’s water is so crystal clear. The lake is located along the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon, USA. Lake Tahoe

Located at the border between California and Nevada is Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is so beautiful that is regularly featured in films like “The Godfather: Part II”. It is a 490 square kilometer lake that is also very deep. It is the second deepest lake in the United States next to Crater Lake.
